We simplified ours after a week. The biggest improvement was keeping one small basket in the exact place we used it, then restocking it every morning.
Our routine changed several times, so flexibility mattered more than the original plan. We kept the parts that reduced stress and dropped the rest.
We wrote a very short handoff note for whoever was on duty. It sounds formal, but it prevented the same questions from being asked when everyone was tired.
